SELECTED WORK

Painting · Furniture · Functional Art · Objects

My practice moves between painting, furniture, functional art, and mixed media, exploring the relationship between image, material, memory, and the objects we live with.

Working across wood, resin, paint, photography, found imagery, and light, I create pieces that range from traditional works on canvas to functional objects and one-of-a-kind furniture. While the form may change, each piece is rooted in the same curiosity: how material, culture, and personal history can transform something familiar into something worth experiencing differently.

Catskills Built-in Library

Custom Residential Commission · Catskills, New York · 2023

A floor-to-ceiling built-in library designed and fabricated as an architectural focal point for a private Catskills retreat. Spanning approximately 13 feet, the piece combines dramatic arched openings, integrated shelving, and custom millwork with a hand-finished wood surface developed specifically for the surrounding interior.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

SC Davis is a multidisciplinary artist and maker based in Newburgh, New York, whose practice moves between painting, furniture, woodworking, and functional art. Working across traditional craft and digital fabrication, Davis creates pieces that explore form, material, color, and the relationship between art and the spaces we inhabit.

Her background in woodworking began in 2015 and has since expanded to include furniture making, CNC fabrication, resin work, restoration, and mixed-media processes. This material knowledge exists alongside a painting practice centered on bold color, abstraction, portraiture, and the human form.

Through both original works and commissioned projects, Davis approaches objects and interiors as opportunities for artistic expression—blurring the boundaries between fine art, furniture, and functional design.

She works from the Hudson Valley, New York.

SC Davis accepts select commissions across painting, furniture, functional art, and custom fabrication. Projects are developed collaboratively with consideration for material, scale, environment, and intended use.
